About Us

Mission:
Restorative Solutions (RS) will empower youth and adults to bring balance back to their physical and mental health, relationships, and environment. RS will implement programs for youth, adults and families, including school based, residential and out-patient.

RS will use Compassionate Communication and other cutting edge, whole body, mind and spirit processes to bring Ho`oponopono to solve social, economic and environmental problems in our community.

Our Staff

photo-with-mic“Netra” (Susan) Halperin, MA, Executive Director

Netra has worked for Maui Youth and Family Services, Aloha House and Women Helping Women as a child and family therapist; and a child therapist and a substitute teacher in Maui public schools. She also has a political background, having run for office and worked as an aide to Hawaii State Representative Rida Cabanilla. Netra sees Nonviolent Communication in the schools as a building block upon which a more compassionate and just society can be built. She holds a BA in Women Studies and an MA in Clinical Psychology/Feminist Therapy.

Kalei’s heart is with Hula, which she has been dancing and teaching to children for decades. Her heart is also with her husband Guy, who was over-incarcerated due to his inability to articulately speak in the courtroom. Thus Kalei is an advocate for criminal justice reform—which led to her connection to, and support of the mission of Restorative Solutions.

Joe is President and Chief Scientist at Connect802 Corporation, a wireless data networking design and sales company. He is a recognized speaker and industry leader in the data networking space. He volunteers as a mission pilot, flying emergency response missions for the Civil Air Patrol. Joe uses his spare time to advocate for worthy causes and give back to his community.

janine-profileJanine Calvert Biagi, BA, Secretary/Treasurer

Janine holds a BA in Business Administration, with a minor in Mass Communications.  She also studied law for three years. She is a mother of three and a grandmother of four.  Janine is passionate about “being,” and teaching others to “be the change we want to see in the world.”

Beth is the Executive Director of the Savitt Family Foundation, and President of the Sustainable Hawaiian Agriculture for the Keiki and the Aina (SHAKA) Movement and former Co-Principal of the Aptos Academy in Santa Cruz, California. Beth uses her time and resources to support a clean and healthy environment, and to support other important programs.
